Based on the text of an old Dutch picture-book (1718) .

Probably it is the Kleyne Canon Cursief van Christoffel van Dijck (see below). Note the quirky 'g'. Special too is the angle of the characters, for instance the A, V and the W.

Modoni compress set. For the first time I used an universal kernlist (AFM-file 26 kB)with all the possible combinations of the 26 characters including the Caps. As you will notice, it worked flawless!

The US authority could save a lot of trees when they would choose the superkerned Carthago as the standard font instead of the

Times New Roman.

Although there are about 300.000 fonts in the world (every 6 seconds a font is born...) I couldn't resist the challenge; I thought Questo was a fine short name.. When I googled the name (maybe there was a font with this name) I stumbled on the Questa Project, a project (fonts free download) of the Dutch typedesigners Martin Majoor en Jos Buivenga. Read the PDF with interesting background information.

When you compare the two fonts, you will notice, when set tight, Questo saves a lot of paper... and the readability stays ok. Funny: the capitals in both fonts are not as high as the ascenders, like the Romanee of Jan van Krimpen. You see here both fonts in 20 pts, screenshots of Phsp.

Romulus Monotype compared to Romulus DTL. Not bad, but the original is a bit lighter and crispier, especially the a.
